Debibi United: Rising Stars from Bono Region

Debibi United Football Club ,a Division One club based in Debibi in the Bono Region of Ghana, has made impressive strides in Ghanaian football. The team began its journey in the Tain/Banda District Football association division Two league, where they competed for two seasons before earning promotion to Division One in 2020, triumphing over Techiman Liberty Youth FC and this was the first of it kind in the district

The 2024/2025 season will mark their third campaign in Division One. In their debut season, Debibi United finished second in Zone 1B, just behind Techiman Eleven Wonders. In the recently ended 2023/2024 season, they finished fourth , demonstrating consistent improvement. The team is now aiming to make more big impact in the upcoming season.

Beyond their strong league performances, Debibi United has also been successful in the transfer market, consistently developing and releasing quality players to top-tier teams in the GHANA PREMIER LEAGUE. The first major transfer was Gideon Asuako to Dreams Football Club, where he played a crucial role in their remarkable run in the last edition of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Following Asuako’s move, Boa-at Regain and Sanut also made their way to Bechem United FC. This season, the club achieved a significant breakthrough in the transfer window, with two key players moving to Premier League teams. Sibiri Thoahiri joined YOUNG Apostles, a newly promoted club, while the most shocking transfer was that of their formidable midfielder, Mohammed Husien (Alonso), who signed with one of Africa’s biggest clubs, Accra Hearts of Oak.

In total, Debibi United has sold five players, all to Premier League clubs. For a team that has only been in the league for two years, their impact on Ghanaian football is undeniable.

God bless Debibi United and may our community of Debibi continue to grow stronger and greater.
