“Black Stars Coaches Safe After Avoiding Serious Road Accident on Return from Tarkwa.”

STATEMENT: BLACK STARS TECHNICAL TEAM SAFE AFTER ROAD ACCIDENT

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) wishes to inform the general public that members of the Black Stars technical team were involved in a road accident earlier today while returning from an official assignment in Tarkwa. The team had been observing the Champion of Champions match between FC Samartex 1996 and Nsoatreman FC at TnA Park.

The accident occurred when the vehicle carrying Head Coach Otto Addo, Assistant Coach John Paintsil, and Goalkeepers Trainer Fatawu Dauda—a Land Cruiser with registration number GR 6521-21—encountered a serious hazard on the Tarkwa-Takoradi road. A pickup truck unexpectedly swerved into their lane, putting the vehicle on a potential collision course. The driver of the Land Cruiser acted swiftly to avoid the head-on collision, though the vehicle sustained some damage in the process.

We are relieved to report that all three members of the technical team are in stable condition. As a precaution, they will undergo further medical assessments upon their return to Accra to ensure their well-being.

The GFA remains confident that the technical team will be in good shape and fully prepared to lead the Black Stars in the upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger.

We deeply appreciate the outpouring of concern and support from the public and ask for your continued prayers as we focus on the critical matches ahead.
