  • PublishedSeptember 4, 2024

For their AFCON 2025 qualifier on Thursday, the Black Stars are headed to Kumasi, where they will once again play the majority of their home games in the Garden City.

The team departed from Accra after beginning their training for the crucial match against Angola. Around twelve players participated in the sessions at the Accra Sports Stadium, under the guidance of head coach Otto Addo, along with assistants John Paintsil and Fatawu Dauda. Notably, all three were involved in an accident just a few days earlier.

The team is set to resume training in Kumasi on Tuesday morning as they prepare to face the Palancas Negras. Ghana shares a group with the 2023 AFCON quarterfinalists in this qualifying campaign. The Black Stars secured a 1-0 win in Kumasi before drawing 1-1 in Luanda against the Central Africans.

Following Thursday’s match, the Black Stars will head to Morocco, where they will take on Niger in the next qualifying round for Morocco 2025.
