**Ghana Forestry Commission Donates GH¢100K to FC Samartex**

The Ghana Forestry Commission has generously donated One Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢100K) to FC Samartex, the reigning champions of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League. This significant contribution is aimed at supporting the club’s ongoing efforts in their CAF Champions League campaign.

FC Samartex delivered an outstanding performance throughout their second season in Ghana’s top-tier league, ultimately clinching the league title in a remarkable fashion.

The donation was presented during a brief but memorable ceremony where FC Samartex officials and some players proudly showcased the league trophy to the Ghana Forestry Commission.

The ceremony took place during a courtesy visit by the club’s delegation to the Forestry Commission. The delegation included notable figures such as the Club President, Dr. Richard Kwaku Duah Nsenkyire, General Manager Edmund Ackah, Team Captain Emmanuel Adu Siaw, and forwards Emmanuel Owusu Boakye and Seidu Abubakar.

Speaking at the event, the Paramount Chief of the Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area and Chairman of the Forestry Commission Board, Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II, praised the team for their historic achievement just two seasons into the Ghana Premier League.

“I want to take this opportunity to once again congratulate you on your historic success, just two seasons in the elite league. The Cup has given me some bragging rights. When I meet my fellow paramount chiefs, they now call me the champion,” he remarked.

He added, “Samartex is doing well, and I hope they continue to go far.”

General Manager Mr. Ackah expressed his gratitude for the financial support, saying, “We are very thankful for this generous gesture, and we promise to return not only with the Champion of Champions Cup but to also take on the Moroccans and reach the group stages.”

The Timber Giants are set to face Raja Club Athletic in the final phase of the CAF Champions League qualifiers on September 15, following their 2-0 aggregate victory over Victoria United of Cameroon.
