📢 The Genesis of Bono Football and the Role of Tain District

The Bono Region has a proud football history, producing legends like Asamoah Gyan and Kwasi Appiah, who have made immense contributions to Ghanaian football.
Among its districts, Tain stands out—not just as an agricultural hub but also as a vibrant contributor to sports, especially football. Despite its potential, the district’s football story is hindered by the lack of proper facilities.
Over the years, Tain has nurtured many players who now compete in the Ghana Premier League and international leagues. These players used Tain as a stepping stone to flourish in their careers.
However, the district urgently needs modern football infrastructure, including AstroTurf pitches, to provide opportunities for young talents and boost football development.
Tain District boasts a first-division team, Debibi United Football Club, while lower-division teams like Nsawkawman FC, Nsawkaw Tabiakoko FC, Nkona FC, and others contribute significantly to Ghana football.
Some notable players who began their journey in Tain include:
⚽ Kalo Ouattara (formerly of Asante Kotoko SC)
⚽ Gideon Asuako (Dreams FC)
⚽ Boa-at Reagan (Bechem United FC)
⚽ Sibiri Thoahiri (Young Apostles FC)
⚽ Hussein Mohammed (Accra Hearts of Oak)
These players are excelling in their clubs today, highlighting Tain’s incredible talent.
It’s time for stakeholders and the @Ministry of Sports to prioritize football infrastructure in Tain. Let’s invest in the future and grow the sport in this district!
Long Live Ghana!
Long Live Ghana Football!
Long Live Tain District!
